The Wellness City Challenge (WCC), in conjunction with the Lion's Club of Rossmoor, cordially invites you to "Puttin' on the Glitz"!

Join us February 5th to "experience sustainable health" with wine tasting from local wineries, a delicious meal made from local food and a cabaret of local entertainers. You will also learn about WCC's simple food guidelines and be among the first to see the premier of the short documentary film "The Challenge of Wellness - The Contra Costa Project."

The Gala is a must for all county and East Bay leaders and stakeholders concerned about health and wellness and the health of future generations. Proceeds will benefit the WCC's education program and the "Contra Costa Project."

Local Sustainability Leaders are Celebrated at the First Annual SCOCO Awards

October 15, 2009, Walnut Creek—The crowd was buzzing with excitement while enjoying local wine and food at the Sustainable Contra Costa Awards Gala, held at the Gardens at Heather Farm. “We never expected the first awards event to be quite as wonderful and popular as it was – we actually had to stop selling tickets”, said Tina King Neuhausel, Board Chair of Sustainable Contra Costa. “For a nonprofit starting out with no budget, it takes a community to build excitement and interest, and that's exactly what is happening here in Contra Costa”. The event celebrated the efforts and accomplishments of over 60 nominees. The six winners are all doing things that not only help our environment, but also help people and strengthen our communities.
